Trineria's 10th anniversary year: stories of partnerships that grew with us.
When your product helps other companies stay on the right side of safety law, your own software cannot be the weak link. That is the story of our ten-year partnership with Tapaturva Oy — Finnish occupational safety experts from Espoo — and their Tapaturva Laki service.
What kind of company our client Tapaturva is
Founded in 2006, Tapaturva set out to be the one-stop partner for workplace safety: training, risk assessments, safety audits and expert help for companies that want fewer accidents and clearer compliance. One of their services is Tapaturva Laki, a web service where companies can check the up-to-date safety regulations that apply to their own industry, legislation monitoring as a service, years before "regtech" was a word.
Where the partnership began
Tapaturva's previous product was already in use when the company recognised the need for a long-term partner who could also take on maintenance work. The original Tapaturva Laki software did the job, up to a point.
We charted the situation together, and made the brave call: instead of renovating old code that had passed through who-knows-how-many programmers, we rebuilt the service from the ground up. A clean foundation, designed for the updates and extensions the service would need for years — because a service whose whole point is being current cannot be hard to update.
In Tapaturva's own words at the time: the new software works like a charm, and working with a familiar, dedicated developer in an agile rhythm meant quick reactions and no misunderstandings.
What Tapaturva is today
Today Tapaturva's expert team serves companies across Finland with a portfolio that has kept widening: safety-card and supervisor training, risk and hazard assessments, machine safety documentation, industry packages for construction and factories, and the Tapaturva 360° assessment that gives a company a clear, comprehensive picture of its safety status. Tapaturva Laki keeps doing what it has always done, keeping its users current on the regulations that concern them, on the foundation we built together.
The lesson of a ten-year partnership
Software partnerships rarely fail on technology; they fail on continuity. What Tapaturva needed in the beginning was exactly what every expert company needs from its software partner: someone who stays, knows the service's history, and can react quickly when the world, or the law, changes. Ten years on, that is still the service we're proudest to provide.
